A Few More Famous Guests!

Good morning (or afternoon) to all. Since we seem to be lacking a guest for this week, I thought I would dig a few up for you! We always enjoy reading famous writers’ quotes. The lesson in this is watch what you say or write because someday someone might be quoting you on a blog. Keeping that thought in mind, here goes…

Loneliness is your companion for life. If you don’t want to be lonely, you get into TV.” William Styron

First of all, you must have an agent, and in order to get a good one, you must have sold a considerable amount of material. And in order to sell a considerable amount of material, you must have an agent. Well, get the idea.” Steve McNeil

“I really don’t want to encourage younger writers. Keep them down and out and silent is my motto. Do they talk about encouraging younger actresses? No. You don’t want any younger actresses to come along and outshine you.” John Updike

Literature will neither yield thee bread, nor a stomach to digest bread with; quit it in God’s name.” Thomas Carlyle

Throw up on your typewriter every morning. Clean up every noon.” Ray Bradbury

The first thing a writer has to do is find another source of income. Then, after you have begged, borrowed, stolen, or saved up the money to give you time to write and you spend all of it staying alive while you write, and you write your heart out after all that, maybe no one will publish it, and, if they publish it, maybe no one will read it.” Ellen Gilchrist

Almost anyone can be an author: the business is to collect money and fame from this state of being.” A.A.Milne

As I said, watch what you say, all you writers and famous writers – I will be quoting you in a blog some day!
