A Writer or a Storyteller?

Are you a writer or a storyteller? Since I write two different genres, this question came up into my mind. There does seem to be a difference. When I'm writing a mystery, I feel like a writer. I have to know the beginning and the end. I have to know 'who done it' right at... Continue Reading →

The Illusive Review

Once again I'm ranting my frustrations out to the world. The forever thorn in my flesh - my illusive book reviews! This would not be such a concern except for the fact that I would really love to hear how readers are reacting to my work. It isn't that I expect every person to love... Continue Reading →

Blanche Manos, one of our favorite authors, gives us an insight into her latest mystery!   Everybody knows silvery moonlight is peaceful, serene, and lovely, but frightful? How could it be scary? Who I am… by popular blogger, Shelley Giusti

Thank you so much for having me today. I thought I would tell you about me and what I do. For those of you who don't know me, I'm Shelley Giusti and I am a reviewer and book blogger. As you can tell from my picture, I love coffee and am pretty sure I wouldn't make it without it! I decided to do this  post by telling you about what I do. I have been a book blogger and book reviewer since June of 2012. I had no idea what I was doing or for that matter what a Cozy mystery was, but knew that I loved to read these great books and had to find a way to tell others about them. So I found out how to start a blog. Still not really knowing what I was doing, it was a very weak start. One day here and then not again for a couple days. For a while, I was fine with that. Then my passion for wanting to get the word out grew even more after a friend of mine told me about this convention  called Malice Domestic, and how to better my blog. I went to Malice Domestic in Bethesda and met so many wonderful authors. That, by the way, was such an amazing experience for me. I had never heard of authors getting together like that and and honestly, I never knew authors were as approachable as they were at Malice. It took me to a whole new level of my reading, and my blogging was changed for  the better from that first weekend in May. I had the best time there, so much so that I went back the following year. It has been three years of fun for me with blogging, meeting wonderful authors, and reviewing these great books. Every chance I get I’m spreading the word about what’s out now and what is coming out soon. I look forward to seeing what will happen next on this journey, what new author I will meet, what will be my next read(my 'to be read' pile continues to grow). I would love it if you would follow my blog; there is so much happening there every day you won't want to miss it. One of the things I have noticed readers doing lately is binge reading. This is new to me and it is basically reading every book in a series, one right after another, until the series  is done or you are ready for the next book. Have you done this? I am also a crafter; I love to knit and crochet and cross stitch. My recent adventure is learning to make quilts. But my first passion is reading. Please check out my blog and tell me what you think. http://www.shelleyreadsandreviews.blogspot.com
